In renovating your outdoor living spaces, hardscapes are just as important as the softscapes. When well designed, concrete portions of your yard can bring balance and contrast to grassy or gravel areas. They allow you to craft desired walkways and sitting spots, ensuring that you and your friends and family are able to fully enjoy your outdoor living spaces. In this regard, interlocking pavers and stamped concrete offer elegant options for adding your personality and tastes to your outdoor spaces. While the processes for installation are wildly different, both stamped concrete and interlocking concrete pavers offer you the opportunity to customize the hardscapes at your home. And, for homeowners living in the Antelope Valley and Santa Clarita areas, JNR Home Improvements can masterfully implement either option. With careful application, a stamped concrete patio will look more like stone than plain concrete. Stamped concrete is initially poured much like standard concrete, though with some added color to the base concrete. The beauty of this cement application really comes through in the finishing touches. Before the concrete fully cures, a powder or liquid “release” is applied to the surface and a stamp is pressed down onto the concrete. This imparts an appearance of depth, color, and texture to what would be otherwise a plain surface. In contrast, pavers are much more of a full system or process that allows you to customize the pattern of the hardscape. Starting with a similar base layer to the one we use in installing artificial turf, we then apply a layer of sand. The sand provides a surface in which to set in the pavers, which are applied in your chosen pattern to make paths and sitting areas in your outdoor spaces. The pieces are locked into place and polymer sand is brushed into the joints, creating an end result that is highly resistant to cracking or lifting. As an addition to a patio, interlocking concrete pavers and stamped concrete can add a level of visual interest to your yard. In pairing artistically applied concrete with an aluminum patio cover or pergola, you create a comfortable backyard oasis for yourself and your loved ones to enjoy. Stamped concrete or interlocking paver pathways help to break up a landscape while making it easy to walk across. In backyards with firepits or pools, these concrete options can be made into necessary hardscapes that are as elegant as they are utilitarian. In customizing the hardscapes for your home, it’s important that you choose an option that will suit your tastes and needs. Stamped concrete is a great way to add color and texture to your yard without the time and labor extensive process of interlocking pavers, while pavers are extremely durable and offer some further customizability. One of the biggest advantages of stamped concrete is its cost-effectiveness. It is costs less and typically less labor than pavers. 8/12/2019 02:16:04 am
The best thing about stamped concrete is that stamped concrete is less expensive compared to other building materials, though the result is almost the same as with those other expensive materials. It is very economical type of decoration whether it is an outdoor or indoor house decoration. 8/12/2019 02:22:10 am

Stamped concrete is used to replicate many contrasting types of surfaces. Not having to use the original material allows the home owner to have a less expensive job while not giving up the desired look. 11/6/2019 07:42:48 am
It makes sense that you add a layer of sand to the surface before you put your pavers on it so they have a stable base to sit on. I'm trying to decide what to do with my yard, and I think it would be awesome to have some hardscape features in it. Maybe I'll replace my patio with stamped concrete. 1/15/2020 05:16:15 am
