Travis and his crew did an outstanding job! We put in curbing and artificial turf in our backyard, and it was done in a professional and timely manner. The JNR crew showed up on time every day, did the work they said they would do, cleaned up after themselves, and gave me daily updates at the end of the day. Travis was easy to talk to and answered any questions we had.
The office staff at JNR also deserve a hand. They were friendly, flexible, responded quickly to texts and emails, and scheduled us to get our project completed before an important outdoor event we hosted.
The backyard looks beautiful, and has made a huge portion of our yard more usable. I've already recommended them to a friend, and would highly recommend them to others.

My old lattice patio cover really took a hit with this last winter and all the rain. I decided to look into a hard covered patio instead of trying to bring my lattice back to life. I was very impressed with JNR. They kept me apprised thru text weekly as to the status of my job. They also sent me emails with renderings and other details, so I could visualize what it would look like in the end. The crew, Paris, Many and Henry, that came out and did the actual work were very polite and friendly with any concerns I had. They did a great job and when they were finished the yard looked great! I'm looking forward to sitting under my new patio cover and enjoying the rain and keeping dry and happy!

My back yard grass was dying due to water restrictions and flooding because of the first heavy rains this year. I contacted JNR and Scott came to inspect the situation. He provided information and suggestions, we agreed additional drainage would be needed and he advised deconstructed granite (a fine rock) would give me a level surface in place of the bumpy grass I had. His crew, lead by Travis did a quick 2 day job of it, finishing just a couple of days before we had another downpour. The new drains and the *D.G. did a wonderful job of taking excess water away. I love the color of the DG, it reminds me of a sandy beach (Navajo color.) Travis and his crew also did a very clean job which I greatly appreciated. I'm now looking forward to Summer, when when my water and gardening bills will deflate due to not having grass.

We contacted JNR, and John came out to look at our project and took his time answering all our questions. His knowledge of the products helped us choose a turf that suited our needs since we have pets. JNR was always quick to answer questions and keep us informed of progress and timelines. Jordan's conceptual drawings were very helpful for us to make all final decisions. Once the crew began work they were efficient and extremely hard working given it was during the heat of the summer. We were exceptionally pleased that they power washed the driveway and cleaned up any trace they were here once the work was done. JNR recently completed our patio cover installation. Their cost estimate was a little higher than some of their competitors, but we decided to go with them as their design team went above and beyond with the details in their proposal- timelines, materials used, color options, etc. We could tell right away that they were a well run company, and we weren't going to experience any surprises from them. We were not disappointed!
Our patio cover is beautiful, adds tremendous value to our home, and will last for many years. We are truly happy with it.
JNR was upfront with costs, provided regular (weekly) updates, and were always quick to answer any questions. We've already decided to go with them for our front yard landscaping project- that review will be coming soon!

Their positive attitudes were amazing and they worked so hard with the focus on perfection and making it just the way the customer was expecting it.
The first person who came to our house was John N. He did the initial measurements of the project area and was helpful in answering a multitude of questions we had. He also gave us some ideas on how the project would come together.
The second person who came to our home was Johnathan D. He came to do the final measurements and drawings of the project area. We met with him in the office to finalize all plans and to sign the contract. He also did the before and after pictures and much more.Thank You

I can't say enough good things about JNR! I needed to put in a patio cover to cover my van and also a DG driveway. I looked online and JNR popped up often as a highly recommended company. My initially interactions were really good, however I lost contact with the person at the company that originally was helping me. I was pretty upset because I liked the proposal and actually gave JNR a 1 star yelp rating. Now most companies would not care for a single person and I thought JNR was no different. But Keith at JNR was outstanding and reached out to me by phone not only to get my project restarted, but to get it proceeding on a rapid trajectory. Ever interaction from this point was outstanding - JNR sent a fantastic person to measure the property and draw up plans, I was provided with detailed designs of the construction, and the cost was extremely fair and was below anyone else I contacted in the antelope valley. Once I approved the plans, JNR provided me with weekly updates - at no point did I feel left out of the loop. The crew that was sent over to put in my patio cover (Paris and Henry) were real professionals - they came on time each day, patiently put up with my questions, and created a masterpiece. The crew that was also sent to put in the DG did it quickly and incorporated my last minute tweaks to make sure it performed well as a driveway for my van.
In sum, I sure glad Keith reached out to me when he sensed a problem. No company is perfect, but what a company does when they make a mistake shows a lot about their values and work ethic. JNR is a top notch company and corrected their mistake many times over to get me the patio cover and front landscaping that I imagined!

We called multiple turf companies and most wanted a deposit just to come to our house in Tehachapi, the only one who didn't, was JNR. They were so helpful and they let us do our meeting online to save us time and effort. The price was a bit more than other quotes we received, but the quality and professionalism or JNR was outstanding and totally worth it. All the other turf installers gave us a wait time of 6 months! JNR said it would take about 4 weeks for installation, which was acceptable. Two weeks went by and we got a call from JNR asking if we would like to have the turf installed in 2 days! Needless to say we were very happy. When the crew came to our house, they were professional, friendly and courteous. The guys answered all of my questions and I could tell they knew what they were doing. It was a pleasure to have them at our house. I've already told my friends and when we are in the market for turf installation again, JNR will definitely get my business! Thank you JNR!!!

I recently had my backyard yard installed with artificial turf by JNR Home Improvements. My yard was starting to feel old and tired and I wanted to improve the look. Initially I was a bit hesitant about the turf as I have an older dog and I wasn't sure if the new turf would be dog friendly. Well, I found him fast asleep on the new turf literally the day it was installed so that answered the dog friendly question. I made several phone calls to JNR during the project with questions about the timing, the new look etc. etc. and Jonathan was never anything but patience and good natured in answering all my inquiries. When the project was completed, I asked to have an adjustment so JNR sent out 2 of their finest, Ruben and Patrick. Now that they are finished I am very happy. It has a great new look and will be easy to maintain. I have not decided to turf my front yard yet but if I do i will be using JNR for the project.

We recently had a patio cover installed. We ordered in July and put down $16k to cover deposit and materials. We were told due to covid it would take longer than the 8 weeks normal delivery time. They do keep you updated weekly on any progress. Materials finally came in just before Thanksgiving. Demo team arrived and after they were half way through demo the foreman said they would not be able to attach patio cover at the 8'3 we had agreed to due to the engineer missing that roof line dropped at the bump out. Was disappointed and angry. There was some back and forth with the company but after the owner Jeremy came out he came up with an acceptable solution. We lost about 6 inches in ceiling height but the job looks fantastic and we are very happy. Everyone we had contact with was professional and friendly. While working in our backyard I was very happy to see how cleanly they worked. I would recommend JNR to friends and family...

Ruben and his crew were fantastic! I was told that it would take two weeks to complete the project and it was done in 6 days, and that's with a last minute change since I missed an area in the design. They were early every day and extremely professional. We will be using them to do our backyard within the year. We love our new front yard!

From the beginning of the project, we were kept apprised of every step of the planning, permitting, product ordering, and finally the install dates. This communication has been of paramount value to us. The crew that installed the patio cover was quite excellent in the efficiency and pleasant manner. They not only worked hard to make sure everything was perfect, but they also cleaned up after themselves.

I completely agree with their ad to stop wishing you had a great outdoor living space and do something about it already! Last summer I had bid out all these projects for the yard and only managed to get one done. Additionally, I wanted a sidewalk and landscaping and sprinklers moved, meaning another three companies to find, each one dependent on the other. After changing the sidewalk to a rock dust walkway I was able to get JNR to do all of them together.
It took three months from signing the contract to get the work done. They do a good job and work hard although tend to show up randomly. They don't communicate much with me or between departments or with subcontractors, so I had to do some directing, but it turned out well. I'm satisfied with the quality and thrilled that my yard looks good in time for the annual Tehachapi Mountain Festival.

JNR installed back patio and insulated cover, wrought iron fence, and added decomposed granite to side yards. Installed a doggie door, ceiling fan, garage coach lights, and front yard post light. Extended width of driveway and created a wheelchair ramp to the front door (looks incredible). The concrete crew was incredible...dealt with rainy weather and below freezing temperature, job is amazing! Highly recommend. (five stars) Then JNR brought in Paris and Many to install an insulated patio cover and ceiling fan...these two are always in motion, if they have questions, they ask...they do beautiful work with lots of attention to the little details. Amazing guys (five stars). Diego Iron did the wrought iron...beautiful work. Custom 5 foot fence enclosure to corral dog as needed. (5 stars) and the electrician...amazing! Put up the garage lights and added the most amazing post light. We don't even have to flip the switch...they are on a sensor and come on and shut off automatically. I wish I knew the electricians name...also amazing! (5 stars) Very pleased with the job...love my patios...the wheelchair ramp appears to be a front courtyard...would never realize that it was designed for use with a wheelchair in mind. Absolutely amazing! Jahaira (spelling?) and Holly took care of all the coordination of details and scheduling...amazing crew. Highly recommend. This was phase I for us...next year landscaping. :) JNR had to deal with the logistics of manufacturing and supplies amidst the corona virus. Tough job. I do want to single the company out for its customer service...my husband had an immediate need for the ramp to be installed...I approached JNR about the possibility of expediting it a little ahead of their timeline...(safety concerns). They came through like a champ and installed the most magnificent ramp I have ever seen...truly of marvel of aesthetics and function. (we needed the ramp exactly two weeks later to transport my husband via ambulance). I cannot even imagine the paramedics trying to wheel my husband on a gurney over rocks at a 30 degree incline safely... the ramp was in and not a moment too soon! Thank you!! (5 more stars)

Throughout the process they were very professional and did a thorough job cleaning up afterward. We needed to remove and replace an existing 10x30 ft patio cover. I did some shopping and got bids for both wood and aluminum. The new cover was to be 11x32 ft. The wood replacement was $20,000 so that was out.
I ended up with JNR because how I was treated by the office staff and the gentleman that came to give the estimate. JNR came in under $10,000 for a better product that my other bids gave me.
Once I got the email for my approval, I saw one of the measurements was off and I called JNR to talk it over. They sent out a new email with correct measurements. The additional footage should have cost me another $400 or so, but they said they would cover the cost . . . and they did.
The bummer is with everyone being home due to COVID, the aluminum shop is way behind. It took about 12 weeks to get the product. I even called the aluminum shop to find out what was going on. It was all good. JNR staff gave me a weekly email to update me. They also sent me a gift card as an apology for taking so long to get the aluminum cut. That was not necessary but very much appreciated.
The tear down and install went without any issues. They took down the old cover in one day and returned another day to put the new one up.
My wife was here and said all the workers were incredibly nice and answered her questions. The owner came and introduced himself and did an inspection. He also answered questions.
This was a great experience and yes, I highly recommend JNR.

Steve, a Field Representative from JNR came out , and right away he seemed great! We told him exactly what we wanted. Sod and sprinklers installed, new curbing , we wanted, plants and four mature trees and he said "okay", that it wouldn't be a problem. He said "in fact it's going to look nice." When we met with Jordan the story changed. He said that mature trees would be difficult to transport. I thought to myself "hmmm" this doesn't sound right at all. Nevertheless we agreed to the smaller trees, and boy did we get small.
JNR were a little slow to start from the date we actually sat with Jordan but we gave them the benefit of the doubt because everyone has seemed busy in their industry since Covid -19 started. Jordan and Jahira told me it would pretty much be done in a few days anyway .
Jahira from JNR called on Wednesday October 22, 2020 and said that the crew would be out to start on Saturday October 24, 2020. They showed up as promised. Hector and his crew were very prompt , professional and well organized. We would like to extend our appreciation for the Amazing work done on our front yard by them. The hours that they spent working on our yard in the heat and cold climates with maintained professionalism was a great blessing to witness.
We were very much impressed with the entire team and honored to have them work on our project.
The curb appeal is beautiful the pictures speak for themselves. The job was completed when promised with efficiency.

We worked with just about everyone at JNR Home Improvement from scheduling with Holly, our quote with Eric, design with Jeremy, project management with Jahaira, and our installation with Paris and Many. Our experience was terrific. The organization as a whole is completely professional, the cost was reasonable (and I shopped around!), and every person is just as pleasant and personable as they can be. We had an excellent experience, and Jahaira in particular went above and beyond for the entire process. We started the process while LA County was in lockdown, so there were many delays -- none that they caused -- and they all had to work extra hard to make sure timelines were maintained. Jahaira kept us updated and even jumped in to help when the inspector wouldn't return my calls. Highly recommend them!

A picture is worth a thousand words....I was tempted to just leave these pictures as they speak for themselves. That said, this review is overdue but still extremely necessary. I see people always asking what can I expect if I sign a contract with JNR? Well...
ESTIMATE: My husband and I called to set up an estimate. John came out and went over everything with us. He never once tried to upsale anything and really listened to what we had in mind. When we asked for a professional opinion on certain things, he was always upfront and never left us with that horrible answer of well it is your decision. He was helpful and answered all our questions. When he was unsure of an answer, he said so and advised he would find out and let us know (which is better than being provided wrong information). John always got back to us without us trying to locate him. When it came time to sign the contract, we told him that we wanted to go over every detail and make sure what was written matches what we wanted as the contract is what controls. He did just that and with patience and professionalism. Every last detail was accounted for.
BID: Yes, their bid may give you a little shell shock at first as other companies may be lower, but there is that old adage, you get what you pay for. We are very pleased that we went with JNR and seeing the completed project, reassures our decision as being the RIGHT one.
JOB TIME: First off, Holy and Jill in the office were amazing. They both were always super friendly and helpful. They informed us that we will be receiving weekly updates via email. We figured it would be automated emails that eventually you start deleting without reading...NOPE. The emails were informative and personal. We mentioned to John the importance of our two new a/c units and the weekly update acknowledged them and the steps JNR were taking to protect them during the job. The weekly updates caused us to become like kids in a candy store waiting for the next weekly update. We contracted with JNR to basically overhaul our backyard. JNR built a block wall, new patio, patio cover, gate and vinyl fencing along both sides of our home. Companies usually place their company signs in the front of their project sites and JNR asked permission before doing so rather than just assuming it was fine. The JNR employees were professional and if we had questions, they answered them all and took time to explain things in laymen's terms. JNR always left the site every day clean and respectful. We never had to clean up after JNR. When it was time to leave at the end of each day, JNR always gave a brief round up of what was done and what they would be working on the next day. JNR even took extra steps such as, where the block wall and vinyl fence met, by applying caulking in the gaps as we had mentioned concerns with privacy. If there was a question about something in the plans, JNR asked us exactly what we had envisioned rather than guessing. JNR pulled city permits for our project and handled every aspect of it, from scheduling the inspections to ensuring every step was approved. After the patio cover was installed, we had a huge rain storm the same week. That day, JNR's workmanship came out. We stood under the patio cover looking at every inch and NOT one leak. Yes, a city inspector may be approving every step but that day seeing the workmanship first hand was satisfying.
We put in a special request for a gate with a pig on it and JNR totally came through. Of course it was a unique request that they never encountered and the words "no" and "can't do" were never heard.
We had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, Jeromie, when he was in the area and stopped by. He was down to earth and a pleasure to speak with. We happened to have a question and he offered to go in the backyard and answer it for us right then and there.
CONCLUSION: WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND JNR. When you look at the before and after pictures and see what they are capable of along with the ethics and workmanship demonstrated throughout the project, how could you think of going anywhere else. Your home is your sanctuary and there are no other hands other than JNR to put your trust in.

We bought a house last year and wanted to get a cover for the patio, so we could enjoy being out doors more often. So we attempted to get quotes from contractors to build a patio cover. No one seemed to be interested in building with a permit. Or at least they never got back to us with a quote. Found JNR Home Improvements via google search. Steve came to our house took some measurements and gave us a quote on the spot. He told us about their insulated classic cedar embossed patio covers. This was the kind of product we were looking for. Durable, insulated and quality all around. Crew leaders Paris & Many were here last week preparing our site for the install. After the first permit inspection was complete ( just a few days after install prep), the build was started. Jerol and his crew finished building our patio cover in one day! And we love it ! Thanks Holly for keeping us updated and making sure we had all our questions answered. We have a place out doors we can enjoy for years to come.

I bought a house with a front yard that was just a dirt and weed lot. I don't have much of a green thumb so I wanted to xeriscape the yard. It's a rather large front yard. They worked with me on the price to get what I needed. The crew demolished the front yard in a single afternoon and then had the rocks and landscaping done in a day and a half. The crew was friendly and quick. They were respectful, extremely hardworking, and very nice. It was over 100 degrees outside so basically they were super heroes.
I do have a couple of negatives about this experience. One it took about two weeks after the proposal was approved to get a start date. I knew ahead of time it would be 4-6 weeks approximately before they started. But I felt like there could have been more communication about a start time.
The other thing (that is honestly partially my fault) was the area by the front door was not included in the plan. I didn't catch that in the initial proposal. So now my yard looks great except this one small portion. That was a huge bummer. I'm not sure why it wasn't initially included. I didn't notice it wasn't included in the original plan until after the work was done and that piece was not so I want back and looked and sure enough that area was greyed out in the colored sketch.
So my advise would be to pay closer attention than I did to the plans. But overall I would recommend.
Side note: They also work with a bank that allows for financing so you can get your work done and pay it off in installments, if needed. My yard was close to 2000 sq feet. It cost about $7000.

I had a new home built and I needed to install new landscaping. I wanted a low maintenance yard, so I searched the internet for a company that could install artificial grass, along with other landscaping options(rocks, trees). I discovered JNR Home Improvements along with a few others. After getting quotes from three companies, JNR was more expensive however, they were by far the most professional. I was willing to pay a more with the confidence I would not get ripped off and I would be happy with the end result. I was traveling during the installation but I was able to monitor due to photos. I had one problem with landscape boulders I paid for that were not installed but after contacting JNR about this oversight it was quickly remedied. I am happy with the end result and I recommend JNR Home Improvements. A special shout out to John Nicholson and Jill Gonzalez. They both were very helpful and professional throughout the process.

I can start by simply saying that JNR is a great company. For my family, making our home comfortable is at the top of our list, but that process can turn to be a very stressful if you don't get the right people to help you do it. Because of this, when I decided to build a covered patio at my home, I did extensive research to ensure that I select the right people for the job. In comes JNR Home Improvements!
From the moment that I requested a quote online, I was able to tell that these guys operated at a higher level. The fast and professional response to my quote request was great. They contacted me to schedule an appointment and worked around my schedule to make it happen as soon as possible. Once the appointment was scheduled, they emailed me the picture and contact information of the sales representative that was coming to our home. This is something I have not experienced before when working with other companies, it gave us a feeling of security that we were dealing with professionals and not someone that would take your money and run away.
I had requested quotes from other companies and dealt with their representatives, but JNR was by far the best one when it came to pricing, professionalism, and financing options. Once we decided to go with JNR to build our covered patio, they established a timeline and stuck to it. They also communicated with us on a weekly basis and kept us informed of the status of the project. The customer service we received from the office staff (Jill and Holly) was excellent and even the owner, Mr. Roberts, was involved in the entire process.
When the covered patio was completed, I was very happy with the results. The installation was fast and pain free, and the crew was very professional and respectful. JNR even worked with me on a last-minute request and came through. After working with them I can see how they have earned AV Best Award for multiple years.

Awesome experience from quote to completion. John came out and gave us a quote on the spot, left a deposit on concrete work and aluminum patio cover. Within a few days we had a rendering of our project and were able to visualize completed project. We received weekly updates via email on the project and once they started on concrete it really came together fast. Poured concrete on Thursday and following Monday they had the patio completed that afternoon. Workers were professional and left the jobsite clean, we would recommend ( which I already have) to anyone looking for their services. Love this company!!! They have done two jobs for us. The first job was a custom patio cover, we got the estimate in November and the job was done just days after Christmas. The crew was fantastic!!! Darryl and team worked quickly, efficiently, carefully, and consistently. They were always on the job on time, they were clean about their work, professional, and cleaned up when they were done. They were so clean, when they left, you wouldn't have even known they were there!!! So, when our fence fell down a week ago Wednesday, I called JNR for an estimate, I also called a fence company. Both companies sent people out on Thursday for estimates. JNR had their estimate to us by that Saturday, the other company was Tuesday. Not only was JNR cheaper, they could start that Wednesday!! The fence company was way more expensive and needed two weeks to start. We went with JNR. The same crew came to do the fence. It was kind of a relief as I had other things happening at the same time this fence construction. I was not going to be home. The came out promptly to measure and to writeup an estimate. They showed us a few samples of the the color options and the material that they would use and explained the process.

JNR has put up two patios for me back in 2015 that are still standing and looking great. So here we are 3yrs later, and I decided to give them the opportunity to do a make over on my back yard. They did concrete walkways, entrance gate, desert scape, two putting greens, golf sandtrap, two boulders, and lots of lighting. I will post b4 and after pics of yard and the current pic of patios. After a 3yr plan, I saw a JNR rep at the AV fair. We set up a date, and the rest was all good. The owner Jeromie is great and had plenty of good suggestions of his own that would compliment my yard. I love my backyard! This is the 2nd time that we had JNR work on our backyard. The 1st time was a putting green. This time it was pavers and a patio.
Before this job began, JNR and I had weekly status calls so to touch base on how everything was progressing. JNR worked with us to get our install plan through our HOA Architectural committee. They had to make many modifications to our install plans before we finally got all the approvals. JNR was great and understanding during this time.
Once the project started, they worked very diligently. Lalo and his team performed the paver work. They answered all my questions very courteously and thoroughly, no matter the question. The area that the paved was an irregular shape. It also hugged our putting green. They were very meticulous in cutting each of the pavers, so it would fit within the designed pattern. At times, I would watch the progress of the job. It was like watching an artist paint a masterpiece. They knew what they were doing and cared about the final outcome. You could tell they took pride in their work.
The work on the patio cover was done very professionally and quickly. Day 1...demolish existing patio cover. Day 2, once the materials arrived...put up the new patio cover. It was like I blinked and voila a new patio cover.

We just had two projects completed with JNR home improvements and couldn't be happier! They installed artificial grass in our yard which the kids and dog love! And they removed and ugly not up to code patio cover and replaced it with a beautiful insulated one with ceiling fans! They were always on time. Just finished having JNR landscape my front yard. Work was done professionally and we are totally satisfied with how it turned out. They even reworked the pavers that sunk down from the heavy tractor used for demo. Lots of manual labor moving all the rock and DG. Concrete was laid and let cure for four days before wheeling the rock across it. Cleanup was completed using power washer to remove all tire marks from driveway. They actively worked within our budget to develop the appropriate covering that gave us a combination of laticed and full shading over nearly 50 feet of backyard space. The end product is beautiful and gives us shade from the summer desert sun and lowers the temperature on the inside of our home as well. We could not have been happier. We especially enjoyed working with JNR since they always responded quickly when I had a question during construction or even after regarding care and cleaning.
Most importantly, JNR stands behind their work. We had an occasion recently for a minor re-fitting, and JNR came right away, even though we were at least a year outside the standard free service warranty. It's comforting to work with a local business that we know we can rely on and that we intend to return to should we plan new home improvements!

My backyard feels like an oasis in the middle of the desert! It's beautiful. I'm so impressed with JNR from the sales/design consultant in the beginning, the workers and the office staff in the middle, and the owner at the end. They really have a great team working there.
When I called to schedule an appointment for a free estimate the office staff was very friendly and timely. They emailed me a photo of the sales guy so I would know who to expect on my appointment! That gave me a great feeling knowing that this company cared enough to do that. He listened to my requests offered suggestions and even had samples to help me choose what would eventually be used in the yard. I choose to go with artificial turf and DG in the planter areas with a small amount of concrete work. I was limited with my time frame of when the work needed to be completed and they finished before I expected.
The products used are amazing and the installation was superb! JNR communicated with me through every step and never made me feel like I was wondering when or what was going to happen next. Thanks so much to Jeff, Chris, Jonathan, and the rest of the crew that was here everyday! I feel horrible that I didn't get their names. I contacted many contractors for the job of xeriscaping my front and back yard, pouring a patio and constructing a patio cover and while JNR wasn't the cheapest they seemed the most reliable, had the best ideas for the job I had envisioned and provided the most bang for my buck. John came out to do the estimate and later to work out the plan for everything. Great guy and very knowledgeable about the work JNR could provide.

We signed a contract on 4/3 & was told it could be 6-8 weeks before they could start. Imagine my surprise when I received a call on 4/11 telling me they were starting on my yard that morning. Well today is 4/13 & they finished today. I love the job they did. Travis & his crew were professional, friendly & efficient. They left the job site clean when they left for the day.

We used JNR Home Improvements to design and construct our backyard. It went from awful to awesome in about a week. We had turf installed, DG walkways and desert-friendly plants with drip irrigation done.
I love looking out at the backyard and knowing I won't have to cut the grass. We get so many compliments when we're entertaining.
We loved the backyard so much, we had our front yard redone about a year later. In the front yard, we removed a tree, added a concrete walkway, more artificial turf, plants, and lava rock. People stop by often to ask who did the work. The fake grass looks so real, most of our neighbors did not notice it wasn't a real lawn.
I highly recommend this company to anyone considering this type of work. The customer service was great and the installation crew worked hard to get things done right.

I had a lot of help from a worker with the sprinkler system, which I new nothing about and he was great helping me with all of this, since I'm the one thats going to run it. I had a few landscapers come out and give me a quote for landscaping my front yard. The first one who came was John Nicholson (john@jnrhomeimprovements…) from JNR. He was very professional while making you feel very comfortable with the entire process. I walked the yard with him and he was able to bring my ideas to life by drawing me out a design and then having their in house graphic designer give me a digital rendering. They started work a couple weeks later after I was assisted by Holly at the office with the scheduling. The first day they were here, they rolled deep. They had 7-10 guys here doing the demo and prepping the yard for the future improvements. When it came time for the work to begin Gerry came out and did our stamped concrete patio/ sitting area. It looked awesome and then Classic Curbing came out and did the concrete curbing around the perimeter of the yard. This was John's idea by the way which I think put the yard over the top. Anyway, after the curbing was done they started with the plants and putting down the decomposed granite (DG). John, Jeromie (the owner), and the lead guy on the job were very influential in helping me pick the correct plants and the colors of the DG. After all the big stuff was done I worked with Jeromie to get all the finishing touches right. These guys have a ton of patience and understanding as I'm pretty particular about the way things are done. They were able to meet all of my needs and I am beyond excited about my new home and the look of our yard. Thanks John, Jeromie and the rest of the JNR Home Improvements Team!

When looking for a company to put in a putting green in my backyard, I went through several bids before picking JNR.
They were not the cheapest but Jeff was great in knowing what I wanted - quality. I wanted my putting green to last over time and not feel like miniature golf.
We settled on a price and they kept me in the loop until the time of installation.
The crew came in on a Saturday when it was a blistering 100 degrees here in Santa Clarita Valley.
They even went out and got more decomposed granite when they found out that the area was more than what they thought after the lead and I talked about what I wanted. The lead acknowledged what I wanted made sense and without any dispute, they got the additional materials during lunch break.
The job was completed mid-afternoon and along the way, we talked about the sloping of the greens to make it a bit of a challenge while not making it impossible.
It is now three weeks from the installation and after some rolling back and forth, the greens are rolling about how I wanted for pace.
My wife and I are really enjoying the putting green and I just cooked some tri-tip in the backyard while admiring my putting green which was great.

I happened to be on The Boulevard for Farmers Market and saw their booth. The sales associate showed me the artificial turf samples and took my information. Thanks to her telling me about the HERO program I can finally enjoy my back yard! The consultation was no pressure which my husband and I appreciate . When we decided to go ahead the longest part of the process was the paper work . Once supplies were ordered the construction took exactly as long as Jeromie estimated! Between demo and the final clean up -5 days!!! We tried 2 rounds of grass and wasted $2k . I wish we had done this sooner. The workers were on time, polite, spoke English and fully cleaned up the job site when they finished. The owner (Jeromie) came multiple times to check on the work and keep us informed. As an introductory statement, I would like to say that, I can highly recommend the JNR Company for landscaping and yard improvements. I say that as a homeowner for over 50 years, with a lot of experience with commercial help.
MY STORY
In June of 2015, I realized my large grass yard (8000 sq.ft.) was not appropriate for the water shortage that exists in California. I confess, at the time, there was a subsidy available through my water company to make a reduction. I made a personal investigation and study of on-going yard projects in my area. One impressed me as to the design and work that was in progress. When I talked with the homeowner, she gave me a JNR business card, along with her recommendation of their work.
I contacted JNR and a representative came out promptly to study my yard, and what I had in mind. When I proposed my plan, he accepted it, and he made several good recommendations to be used. I was impressed with this. In addition, He recognized the “time element” to complete the yard, prior to the end of the subsidy. He told me that He would get back to me quickly, once he checked their work schedules. Within a day, he called back and said that his company could do the work, in the time period required. I gave the go ahead.
The JNR Company showed up as scheduled, with a full crew of competent and involved workers. The work was completed on time, and as advertised, and I was able to qualify for the subsidy, which was a great help.
One more item—a BIG one for me; that cemented my confidence in JNR, and made it easy to give them a high recommendation: A new fine stone material was utilized in one area. The fine stone was new and had a desired color. However, due to an unknown characteristic of the new stone, it was not suitable for the long term. The JNR representative told me that it would be replaced; and, it recently was. Again, the work team was above average in their handling the work. They came on time, had a full crew, and did the work quickly.
I feel that this guarantee of their work is something to reassure the homeowner that JNR is behind their work 100%, and they want the homeowner to be completely satisfied. To me, this, along with their quality work and meeting their time schedules, makes them an easy choice.

Came to replace sod lawn with Easy Turf artificial lawn to alleviate watering of our front lawn and to stop windblown water marks on our front windows. Professionals showed up first day to remove sod, cap sprinklers, and setup bubblers for remaining trees in law area. Perfect compaction of decomposed granite under new Easy Turf product was ready for application on day two. JNR people spent hours on day two setting, cutting and then stitching lawn edges to the D-Granite along the driveway, trees, and around the fire hydrant and water meter access at ground level. We hired another contractor to remove our old concrete decking around our pool, and we were going to have the wooden patio cover rejuvenated. When the price was quoted we decided it was probably more cost effective to replace with an Alumawood cover. I contacted three different contractors to obtain quotes but Jeromie was the only one that was communicative and showed up to view the project. His price was very competitive and he explained every step in detail - he showed up EVERY time he said he would. Old patio cover was removed and disposed of and all mess cleaned up. On Monday he and his crew showed up and erected the patio, with light installation, and they did an AWESOME job. As we are still waiting to have concrete sealed, and are anxious to finish, Jeromie and his two workers worked until 7p.m. to complete the project. We decided to redo our whole backyard of swimming pool and concrete, and an old aluminum, screened in patio. We called three different construction companies and JNR was one, As soon as the owner, Jeromie, came out we knew this guy knew what he was talking about. He was so helpful and informative. We thought we wanted to tear down the old patio and put up a wood covered patio. Jeromie sold us on a new aluminum cover that has 3 inches of insulation in the roof. Never have to paint it, and we got can and a ceiling fan. It is the most awesome patio I have ever seen. We love it! Jeromie helped us design the concrete so that we could have a grass area around the patio on one side. It came out beautiful. He brought in the concrete company that he does business with and they Jack-hammered all of the old concrete out and put in a tinted concrete with an awesome design. We couldn't be more pleased. From start to finish everything went right along with the schedule Jeromie gave us. We also had Jeromie put in a new French door leading out to the patio. That came out so beautiful! I am extremely pleased with my beautiful new hallway tile installed just in time for the baby shower I hosted a few weeks ago. We faced several challenges including the unexpected early arrival of his tile expert's baby, forcing Jeromie to install it all himself to meet my hard deadline. Unable to match the existing tile Jeromie was able to order new tile and create nice transitions between the new and old. The job included hand scrubbing of the existing grout, and cleaning of almost 450 sq ft of tile by his tireless worker. My boyfriend and I recently had a flood from our washing machine on our second floor, which completely ruined the laundry room and our master bath. We had Paul Davis come in and remove the water damager and they indicated they were going to complete the construction for us; however, Paul Davis pretty much left us high and dry. We found JNR and they were quick to come in and help us out. Being relatively new home owners, we weren't really sure how we wanted our bathroom to look and Jeromie was extremely helpful. He helped us pick out our tile and came up with a design for us. He got his crew started very quickly... I work from home, so I interacted with his crew daily and they were extremely polite and consulted with me during the process to make sure everything was going the way I wanted it to. I am soooo happy with the job Jeromie did on my home. I decided to replace all my windows and I gave him a call and we set up an appointment for an estimate and I am glad I went with him. He gave a very fair estimate and even did the work himself! He seemed very trustworthy and honest, I wasn't even home when he did the installation! I would highly recommend him for any job, A+!! We hired this company to build a patio cover off of our residence in Quartz Hill, CA. I was pleased to see the owner on site constructing the patio with his worker. The project was completed quickly and I felt they cared to see it done properly.
We will be using JNR again on our next project, vinyl windows.
